Earlier than planned
It's been a very easy journey back down South and we are well ahead of schedule. Barring no hold ups we should be back a whole hour earlier at 4pm. Home contact is calling around, but also please share this message with other parents of you see it.
Updated pick up time
Making good progress and should be back a little earlier than planned. The home contact will start contacting parents soon.
At the M6 Tolls
Moving along nicely. The minibuses are on the M6 Toll road now with kit van 20 minutes ahead.
Homeward bound
We are now on the journey back to Silver End. The kit van should be back slightly earlier so bags can be in Cara ready for when the Scouts arrive. Will next update progress around midday.

All over
That's the last day of Summer Camp 2022 done. The building was booked back in the spring of 2019 (before we went to Germany) and over the last two years it has been worked on not knowing if it would be able to go ahead, what activities companies would survive the pandemic or how many Scouts would be able to go (due to postponed family holidays\trips).
The hardwork, time and stress of it all has been well worth it though. The Scouts have had a fantastic time and all there is to do now have a good night's sleep, clean the building before heading down south back home.
Evening meal
The last meal of Summer Camp is alway in a restaurant (table manners is a 'skills for life).
Can highly recommend the Anglesey Arms for a group booking. Good food and location to park minibuses.
Heading back to The Old School Lodge now to begin the tidy up and cleaning before bed.
Last activity of the week
That's the end of the activities for the week and what away to end. We have been out on the RIBs for an hour. A few got 'a little splashed' 🙂
Friday - Last full day
It's the last full day of Summer Camp 2022 🙁
After a very active day yesterday, this morning is a little bit more relaxing with a guided tour of Caernarfon Castle then free time (with a leader) around the town to buy souvenirs and gifts.
This afternoon is one of the activities everyone has been looking forward to....

BBQ
It's been a really nice sunny evening here in Wales so we enjoyed eating the BBQ alfresco.
Lots of chicken, burgers, sausages, cheese, salad and bread. Followed by ice-cream sandwiches and Welsh cakes.
Shortly we will be having an 80's disco - that's why they are in their bright colours 🙂
Time to clean up
We are now back at The Old School Lodge. Tonight's dinner is a BBQ followed by an 80's disco so Scouts now have tike to shower off anything they brought back from the river they have been scrambling in and find their legwarmers and neon t-shirts 😋
Thursday
Breakfast is done (bacon rolls cooked to perfection again by Martin).
The Scouts are now double checking they have all the correct kit for today's activity.
Shortly we will be heading off to the Afon Ddu Gorge for a session of Gorge Scrambling. It's an activity the current Scouts have never done so they are really excited to be doing it.

Another day done
That's it for Wednesday at Summer Camp. As it wasn't raining this evening we went on a 2 mile hike around the village and fields of Deiniolen (where we are staying). Some really nice views of the surrounding hills and mountains.
The Scouts are busy making their lunches now so we can get away just before 9am tomorrow for another day of adventure.
Heading Back
It's been a great day at Zipworld. The coaster was very popular and most would have quite happily spent all day on there. The screams you could hear were of joy not fear though 🙂
The Sky Ride was closed due to a technical issue so we got offered the plummet or another nets session (at no extra cost). So the Scouts got to do whatever they were comfortable with during the afternoon.
They have filled up with ice creams and drinks and now we are heading back to The Old School Lodge for dinner.
Coaster and Nets
This morning we are at Zip World Fforest. First activity was the coaster that is a roller coaster through the woods that you control. This was followed by the Tree Top Nets, which is like bounce below but in the trees.
A big yellow thing
It's Wednesday morning and something is in the sky that we haven't seen for 24 hours... The sun!
Hopefully it will stay that way for the rest of the day, although there maybe the odd shower.
The Scouts alarm call will be in a couple of minutes.

End of Day 4
It was only a short journey back to our accommodation from Llanberis. Once back there was time for cleaning rooms and for Scouts to shower and wash to save time in the morning as it's a fairly early start again on Wednesday as we head out to Zipworld Fforest.
Tonight's dinner was Fajitas - a first on camp and been voted the best meal of the camp so far 🙂
National Slate Museum
This afternoon we went around the slate museum. Interesting to see how the slate was split and made into the various different sizes and shapes by hand.
Part way through the visit there was a short walk and guided tour to the Vivian Quarry.
Cheesy Group Photo Time
We couldn't do the group photo on Snowdon, so done it next to the train and Lake Padarn. Lunch break next and then to the slate museum.
A change of plan
The Snowdon Mountain Railway is closed today due to rain and wind. We are still going on a train though, but around the Lake instead. Before then, there is a bit of time to hit some gift shops.

Been out on the bikes
It's been a fun afternoon of cycling through on the trails through the forest. A mix of up hill and down hill trails to follow with spectacular views. No one fell off this time and only one puncture about 10 meters from the end point (and that was a leader).
Heading back to base now for dinner.
Climbing
It's been a brilliant morning of climbing. A massive thank you to Beacon Climbing. The Scouts got a lot higher than many thought they would and learned to belay too. Lunch and then off to Beddgerlert for mountain biking.
Breakfast
The Scouts are busy with breakfast. Bacon rolls, cereals and toast this morning.
In 30 minutes we will be off to Beacon Climbing for 90 minutes of challenging climbing.
